The film 'The Curse Of The Werewolf' is a movie produced by the British production company Hammer horror, the movie, which was created in 1961 is able to use not only violence but gore to follow an orphan child who terrifies those around him when he becomes a werewolf after a hunting expedition; this being new within the horror genre as movies would often only used a limited amount of not only gore but horror to scare its audience. Moving on from this, the gender representations that are shown are somewhat stereotypical to the old fashioned horror genre film poster. For example, the stereotypical damsel in distress is shown through two of the females shown on the poster, they're shown to be submissive, helpless as well as the victim. However, you are able to see a possible change of gender ideologies and/or stereotypes as we see a male being a possible victim of the werewolf protagonist. Moreover, we are still able to see the clear dominant protagonist being a male werewolf from the personal pronoun of 'he', this once again reinforcing the gender roles as well as stereotypes of that time.
