I chose to compare these two pieces of media because they have a similar underlying idea/ message. The target audience for inside out is probably children ( both boys and girls) from the ages of around 8 - 13 , people who could relate to the main character in some way. Although , it is considered a family movie so some younger and older kids are likely to watch this movie as well as the parents of the children. The target audience for the McDonald’s advert is similar ( if you think the target audience is to relate to the boy in the advert ) , but their target might be more towards the parents because they can probably relate to the mum in the advert. The target audi for both can be fit into multiple categories of Yong and Rubicams 4Cs theory. For example , both the movie and the advert were very popular at the time of their releases so they could be consisted mainstream. The younger audience who might relate to the main character or inside out ‘Riley’ and the young boy in the advert could be thought of as the reformer because ( if they do actaully relate to the characters ) they probably have the ideas that they want to be independent and a ‘you can’t tell em what to do’ mindset.
