Sony Long Live Play is an advert for the PlayStation 3 released in 2011. This ad is a ambitious 2 minute long video featuring some of PlayStations most popular game characters.
In this advertisement it shows popular gaming characters worship a user of PlayStation called 'Michael'. Michael is a typical gamer and shows the ideal user of Sony's product. However, towards the end of the ad we see Michael in a picture frame on the wall and the camera tilt up to many more picture frames of gamers. Even though Michael is a stereotype of a gamer, we see that gaming isn't just set to one audience . There are multiple different types of people framed on the wall further connoting this idea of 'play' isn't just set for one group of people like Michael. Its appeals to anyone. I think this ad is effective because not only does it promote its product its shows diversity in the gaming community.
The slogan Long Live Play also interests users because it is saying gaming is a forever and people have a real connection with gaming therefor, more people like Michael and the other framed users should 'Long Live Play'. This slogan promotes to gamers that the PlayStation 3 open this to world of playing to everyone and encourages them to buy the PS3.
