Because I liked a boy by Sabrina Carpenter (2022) is set in a circus which represents the chaos and unpredictability of love and relationships. It reflects the highs and lows, the excitement and the emotional turmoil that comes with romantic feelings. The bright colours and lively atmosphere of the circus juxtaposes with the deeper themes of the song showing the complexities of attraction and the societal expectations that come along with it. Overall the circus works as a metaphor for the craziness and circus life experience of navigating love and relationships when young.
I also think the bright lights at the beginning surrounding the entrance of the circus represents the glamour and appeal to fame that attracts so many people which is juxtaposed with the darkness that surrounds the tent which shows that actually behind all the glamour that is seen by the media it is not like that at all and there is a darkness that we as consumers don't see. Another thing i noticed is the lion with a singular green eye hanging over the circus which shows that her every move is watched and criticised by the media.

This clip at 0:17 is almost a frame within a frame with the curtains framing the set up and the ring framing her which shows how she's trapped and can't escape what the media is saying about her. I also think the spotlight represents how the public put celebrities on these pedastools and when they don't live up to it or do something they don't agree with they are the first people to attack them and are insanley quick to beleive whatever story the media decides to run with that day.
