in 2016 the then prime minister David Cameron called a refferendom on the contentious issue of Britain's continued membership in the Europian Union. Cameron was admen that the uk would choose remaining when he lost the vote he resigned as leader of the conservative party and was replaced by Teresa May. this opened up a minefield of political discourse and upheaval that still continues to this day. The issue transcends traditional values of left and right wing politics and therefor the media has represented the issue in many different ways.

This can be seeing the video below:

Many far right media texts viewed Brexit as a race or immigration issue and portrayed immigrants and foreigners residing in the UK as a negative force on the native white brits .

Many far right media texts viewed Brexit as a race or immigration issue and portrayed immigrants and foreigners residing in the UK as a negative force on the native white brits . a key commenter was the alt right you tuber The Iconoclast.

A video he uploaded on his channel in 2017 saw him lambast former PM tony Blair chaallanging the legitimacy of the Brexit vote leave campaign. The video was then filled with the youtuber simpley swearing and calling value names. The title of the video is even "Tony Blair is a Condescending Tw*t" this is an example of the pro brexit media behaving like children when there own ideology is challaged. This media text is clearly demosnting pluralism as it reflects the veiws of its target audience.

A BBC vewier would clearly be able to tell that the supposedly unbiased publicly funded network is infact very anti Brexit. This is exemplified by much of its programming, this anti brexit retorick has even infiltrated Dr who. In the 2019 new year's special Resolution it is claimed that the interplanetary defence army UNIT was suspended due to the UK's trade partners pulling out of funding. This is clearly a jab at brexit. Dispite being a joke it holds an ideology that brexit would cause chaos and destruction akin to a dalek invasion. Though this could be a hegemonic effort to push an anti Brexit retorick it could also be interpreted as a satirical jab towards those who are anti Brexit and may over react to the situation.
