Career Opportunities is a 1991 American romantic comedy film staring Frank Whaley as the lead role alongside Jennifer Connelly. Night shift custodian Jim is accidently locked up in the store as he cleans, and he later realises that he has access to everything inside, including the free food and merchandise, however, he later realises that he is not alone as he bumps into Josie, which they begin to form a romantic relationship together.

 


Stuart Hall's Reception Theory explains how producers uses various of signs to encode the media text's meaning, according to their ideologies as well as recourses. This is then decoded by the audience, who then interpret the message through their own ideologies and knowledge.
