Crazy Rich Asians

This film was made in 2018, which makes it a modern film which conveys messages challenging the stereotype of asians just being incredibly smart, especially as the cast was all asian, the character Awkwafina challenged the idea of all asians being more 'dumb' than the average asian, but still being treated as an equal with other equally as good talents, she plays Rachel's charismatic confidant and best friend. To add to this, the film also debates topics of what asian parents typically want and how many characters defy this and how many of them have more amazing talents such as fashion or business.
