Elle- magazine marketing

Elle is a women's life style magazine which focuses on all aspects of fashion and beauty it is said to be one of the biggest fashion magazines globally with 46 international editions in over

60 countries since being founded in France in the 1960s.in the 4cs model this covers target audience would be aspirers and mainstreamers

front cover analysis:

in this Canadian edition of Elle features Canadian supermodel winnie Harlow. On the front cover. Harlow is wearing an open blouse and no makeup representing her skin condition

vitiligo which she is known to be a spokes person for. this shows Elles inclusivity when it comes to representing different women in beauty industries and across the globe. the title in the magazine covers around three quarters of the page whilst the letters are covered by the supermodel, this could show how elle values the people who take the front cover of their page and establish their name further. the text surrounding winnie Harlow alternates from black to white creating contrast with the soft neutral tones of the background and her clothes. the intentions of having neutrals contrast such bold colours, could be a statement of how a women's words are powerful and shouldn't be hidden especially as we know that. WinnieHarlow breaks down the stereotypes that being different is a bad thing and shows us that we do have a voice. her name being in bold red suggests her power and influential status when being the cover of this magazine and also potentially show she is not scared to shy away from subjects some people may label as taboo as a quotation shows her saying " i am not the person people portray me to be". the writing displayed on the front cover shows how the magazine sticks to the same topics however having different editions from different places as well as different people featuringon the front cover this could interest people as they trust big celebrities as they can be influential and certainly create new opinions for somebody.

elles online website however, takes a different approach to the front cover as we see the celebrities in a more relatable and laid back light. the website includes videos that can also

be watched on other platforms like YouTube whilst still sticking to the beauty and fashion element that their magazine is known for they include tabs like fashion, beauty, culture',

love & life' and horoscopes the website gives off a sort of minimalistic feeling more targeted towards an older target audience as opposed to teens as the layout colours are black and white promoting more expensive fashion brands however incorporates a viral element along with recommendations for netflix tv shows.
