Endgame Poster - Gender Analysis

This is a poster for Avengers Endgame, Directed by the Russo Brothers in 2019. I am going to be analysing the representation of gender within the poster.


Right away, there are 13 people/aliens/robots/titans/raccoons in this poster, 9 are male and 4 are female, this ratio of men to women could be seen as that less women can be superheroes compared to how men can easily be superheroes.


However this could also be seen as empowering to women as it could be sen as a message to women that they can be anything, even a superhero, if they just try.


Also, the women in the poster are represented as strong and independent through their body language, they are standing tall, amongst and even higher than a few of the men on the poster showing their dominance and strength.
