Get Out is a 2017 horror/thriller film that follows the story of Chris and his girlfriend Rose as she invites him for a weekend getaway with her parents, Missy and Dean. At first, Chris reads the family's overly accommodating behaviour as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter's interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries leads him to a truth that he never could have imagined. I decided to watch this movie as I enjoy thriller movies, with lots of suspense and Get Out was one of the top recommendations for that genre. I am fairly familiar with the thriller genre and this movie is definitely typical of it as it is full of conflict, suspense, tension, unexpected twists and high stakes. I think the main target audience for this film was adults, both men and women, between the ages of 20-40 as it deals with some serious topics and can be terrifying at times. There are many appeals of this product such as the fact that whilst it is frightening, it is extremely fun to watch with scenes jumping from scary, to funny and also to being emotional. Furthermore, another appeal of this movie is that it is directed by Jordan Peele, who is a famous and well known film maker, and this is included on the poster which makes it more appealing to the audience as they immediately expect it to be good. I loved this movie as it kept me entertained throughout the whole thing and I was constantly unaware as to what twists and turns were coming next and so overall I was consistently kept on the edge of my seat.
