HISTORICAL CONTEXTS

COLINISTATION OF AFRICAN AND SLAVE TRADE:

North Africa experienced colonization from Europe and Western Asia in the early historical periods .The history of external colonization of Africa can be divided into 2 stages , classic antiquity and European colonization. In 1807 , the British Government passed an act to abolish slave trade in the British empire. However, slavery in Continued until its final abolishment in 1838. Between the 1870s and 1900 Africa faced European imperialist aggression , military invasions and eventually colonization. African colonies of course resisted this but by the 20th century , almost all of Africa except from Ethiopia and Liberia had been colonized. Today , in nearly all African countries the language used in government and media is a relic inherited from various colorizations.


20th CENTURY CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENTS :

The 20th Century Civil rights movement was an extension of the abolishment of slavery in the 19th century. The movement was primarily a peacful / non violet protest which sought for racial equality. The movement gained a lot of attention and Northen support , especially after the support of Martin Luther king jr. and the arrest of Rosa Parks in 1955. In the 60s , the protest resulted in the desegregation of black people from everyone else in supermarkets , movie theatres and libraries. However , confederate states in America were still opposed to desegregation and often citizens from the south would become violent towards non violent protesters , this resulted in multiple fatal injuries and deaths of the protesters. The civil rights act, signed July 2nd 1964 prohibited any form of racial discrimination in public places and also introduced the desegregation in places like schools. This act also made it illegal for discriminations while hiring employees or in the work place. Image of civil rights protestors :




THE BLACK PANTHER POLITICAL PARTY:

The black panther political party was introduced in Oakland , California by students Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton. It was an African American organization formed in 1966, the partys initial purpose was to patrol black neighborhoods in hopes of protecting them from police brutality. It also had various social programs such as such as free breakfasts for children and medical clinics. However, it eventually developed into a Marxist group that called for the compensation to the black community for the years of segregation and abuse they endured. Founders of the party:
