British cinema produces very unique and captivating films that have their own style and are very memorable. Despite not being massive forms of revenue compared to films produced in Hollywood the films are very well received and appreciated for the most part.

Films such as Blue Story and KIDULTHOOD are good examples of the style and the nature that some of these films follow. Both films are set in London and tackle themes of violence and gang culture that were relevant to the time and are still relevant today. Both attempt to portray themselves as very realistic and this can be seen in their visual style. Realism seems to be a common theme of British Cinema unlike more fictional stories seen in places like Hollywood.

Blue Story is a film produced to create awareness of the destructive nature and eventual tragic end of gang involvement. It was tased on a true story and the director had his own personal account of what had happened, but some events were slightly altered for the purpose of a more impactful story. It followed two friends and the impact of just living in different area had on their relationship. Showing key moments that caused them to become distant and eventually enemies and ends in a tragic way that sends a meaningful message to audiences. Despite its critical success and winning multiple awards it only earned 8 million at the box office which was a huge success but much less than films from Hollywood.
