Media Diaries: Christmas ads

One of the most memorable Christmas advert is the John Lewis 2015, man on the moon ad wracking up to 30 million views on YouTube within the last four years. It possibly being one of the most iconic and memorable British Christmas advert to date. This possibly being because of the calm song within the background that seems to fit perfectly with the idea of the elderly being alone around Christmas.


Furthermore, the advert is able to move itself away from the brand of John Lewis and focus on the idea of Christmas needing to be spent with another person; the advert itself is able to create a sense of community and possible comfort when the young girl is able to communicate with the lonely man on the moon; this helping to make it more significant and memorable with the song as it will always be able to resonate with the audience of the song being paired with the John Lewis advert.
