Are there too many ads? To put it simply, yes, According to marketing experts we are exposed to about 45 adverts a day minimum, the amount we interact with may vary, wether we see them on television, on social media or on bus stops, It is clear that everywhere we go, we are shrouded with adverts, each trying to sell us products or services, but is it really fair to say there are simply too many adverts?
In my opinion, yes. Huge Conglomerates compete to gain your viewing, it is simple, every main tourist attraction or sports game, the walls are plastered with adverts. Take the super bowl as an example, In 2017 the cost of a 30 seconds ad was $5.4 million. Although this is nothing less than a pebble out of huge conglomerates pockets, to ordinary people it is a lifetimes worth.
But what is the solution to stopping these adverts? Well, you could use the old trick of clicking of and on the video until it doesn't play an ad or you could invest in an adblocker. Either way, both are unconventional and costly - of both time and money.
So in conclusion, Yes there are simply too many ads, but no, there is no way to simply stop the ads.
