Media Diary Week 8

Tiny Mammoth is a local independent company that was first created in Manchester by 19-year-old Sam Hepworth and Joe Farnworth. As their website states, Tiny Mammoth's aim is to:

"Help artists bridge the gap in the areas that are currently limiting their growth," and "to help them reach their full potential, attracting bigger crowds and converting them to fans."

Not only do they try their best to promote the talent of small, local bands, they also give opportunities for young and inspiring writers to work for them - creating blogs on certain events and bands.

This company therefor reinforces Curran & Seaton's idea that more socially diverse patterns of ownership help to create the conditions for a more varied and adventurous outcomes. This company is classed as having independent owners who are out to nurture local talent - not for profit.
