Childish Gambino is the stage name for Donald Glover : Actor, singer, rapper, comedian, producer, director. He uses his Childish Gambino moniker exclusively for his music endeavours. At the start of his music career, Gambino focused a lot on rapping, often using quirky punchlines with a hard delivery. This garnered him a cult following of fas around the world. In 2013, Gambino would drop the album Because The Internet, a multimedia experience with accompanying media to the album such as a full movie script and accompanying video clips, including a prelude 20 minute short film 'Clapping for the wrong reasons'. The album would delve into significant topics along with surrealist imagery and depictions.

whilst releasing shorter EPs every now and again, he would release his 3rd studio album in Awaken My Love in 2016.A Neo Funk Soul RnB fusion album.

In 2020 He would release his seemingly final album 3.15.20. A much more experimental sounding album.

The video above for the song 'Sweatpants' from the album Because the internet shows the surrealist elements of the entire project. Gambino walks through a restaurant, has a glass of water poured for him, walks to a jukebox and walks outside. When he walks back into the restaurant, he is back where he started, repeating the same actions over again. This time, some people have his exact face. The final time he walks through everybody has the same face. These are some of the surrealist elements seen through this project.

For context regarding the following scene of the script that released alongside the album:

• Each scene has a song from the album that is used to soundtrack the scene

• There is a running term (Roscoes Wetsuit) that appears in inexplainable areas for no reason known to 'The Boy' (unnamed protagonist) such as graffiti on the floor, online forums and billboards.

• The following scene takes place in a diner

Parallels with the song and the script arise, such as the unexplained deja vu the boy gets and where the scene takes place. Surreal aspects begin to arise her with the use of the term Roscoes Wetsuit and the existential crisis' the boy has.
