Music marketing - Royal Blood

Royal blood is a British rock duo consisting of Bass player and vocalist Mike Kerr and Drummer Ben Thatcher. Their music delves into different sub genres of rock such as alt rock, garage rock and blues rock.


Their music doesn't specifically cater to a certain age group. The topics spoke about in the songs and the type of music they perform. The band only recently formed in 2013 and have already amassed a large dedicated fan base, with both of their albums debuting at number 1.



The music video follows conventions of rock music, such as a heavy focus on performance of the band, along with obscure shots of abandoned areas and chaos ridden places with crime scene tape and shotgun shells. The band members perform in a cave wearing dark clothes to match the songs dark underlying tones about a lost love that turned violent.


There is a loose narrative with a woman running through neighborhoods and forests, whilst a car burns and a man and a child escape the car, along with crime scene shots. This loose narrative could be interpreted in different ways, leaving it up to the audience to decide the narrative for themselves.




The website heavily focuses on the release of the new song that the band has just released. The primary colours of the website are black and orange, which gives off an ominous feeling. The website also has links to various different social media accounts of the band, along with a link to sign up to a mailing list to keep up to date with the band. There is also a link to the bands merchandise promoting their newest single along with their latest album. There is one more link that shows tickets to their upcoming live shows. all of these are conventional of artists.
