Patrick Droney is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist and is known for his blend of indie rock, pop, folk, and soul. He grew up in Pennsylvania within a musical family. His father used to play songs with him in their basement, so his music means a lot to him. His influences/ inspirations come from classical rock and soul.
He moved to Nashville to pursue his musical career full-time, and this is where his combination of guitar-driven melodies and person, heartfelt lyrics quickly caught the attention of locals and eventually a wider group of fans.
He eventually released his debut EP, American Glory (2016) which is now no longer available to stream since he wanted a fresh start after moving to Nashville. His music blends raw emotion with the energy of rock and roll with a polish of modern pop. His riffs are recognisable as well as his talent being appreciated and complimented by many people across the globe.
Text 1, State of the Heart Music Video
This music video has actress Lucy Hale who starred in ‘Pretty Little Liars’ and more recently ‘The Hating Game’. Having her star in the music video boosted the attention to his music and dramatically increased his audience as her existing fans were now introduced to him.
The music video takes place in New York, where a lot of Patrick’s music references. Patrick is associated with New York with the consistent mentions of NY and Brooklyn in his songs and even featured on his merchandise.
The video shows love and heartbreak which is a great reflection of the overall message of the album. ‘State of the Heart’ is the title track of the album. Giving this song a music video is relevant as it acts as a summary of each individual track and what the entire meaning of the album is/ acts as a conclusion almost.
His music videos all have aspects of performance within them, some narrative but still include performance. This further adds to his reputation/ artist persona and gives us a more in depth idea of who he is, as well as displaying his guitar skills. Many of the performances are focusing solely on him whilst he performs the iconic riffs from his songs. This just proves the authenticity of his songs/ it is done by him and the credit should be going to him for the songs.
Text 2, Patrick Droney’s Website

The home page instantly throws his new album at us. This album was released mid 2024 so it is relevant to have it as the first thing we see. It also shows how much this album means to him as it takes up the whole home page. The music video beneath it is made for the top hit off the album ‘Shotgun Rider’. It is a feel-good song and the one that received the best response overall from his album ‘Subtitles for Feelings’.
There used to be a merchandise option on the menu bar, however the merchandise website was taken down. So now the menu bar only consists of music, tour and videos. These are all very necessary for the audience to easily access different things he has created or doing.
#The home page also includes a pop-up for his mailing list which allows fans to exclusively receive updates from him and his team. This just makes the artist seem more in touch with his fans and wanting to consistently keep them updated on his career.

There is a page for all his music videos across the years of him being an artist which is interesting as some artist websites tend to just include a link to the artist’s YouTube and leave the fans to do the digging for specific videos. This page also showcases his creative side as having multiple music videos shows that he is imaginative and can create a visual representation of many of his songs that will accurately portray the message of the song. He also linked some behind the scenes videos as well as an album trailer for his ’Subtitles for Feelings’ album which was treated like a film release to match the aesthetic. He was going for a 90s blockbuster style for this album release and the trailer accurately does this with the VHS style.
