This makes this image more real because we know what they are protesting over and has anchorage because it is attached with emotion.

they have used a medium shot, whilst also showing what is going on in the background. the use of colour and light in the image are prominent because there is a fire behind the man and we cannot see his face. this could be a signifier that they are all protesting for the same thing.

The use of the powerful symbol the man is portraying is a symbol for black power also the fire in the background makes him more powerful.

The fact that a roadside sign is burning suggests that they are powerful and are protesting for the right reasons.
