Woman distraught after letter reveals that she's £50,000 in debt

This image has an overall dark and depressive feel as it appear stop how a woman in a saddened and isolated state. I feel this as the image is framed in a medium close up shot, showing the subject in context with their surrounding. The image highlights the factor of isolation as it shows the empty right side of the bed, unused and made whilst the woman lies on her side, emotional.

The overall shot has a very dark feel to it with the only light in the image appearing to come from a window, out of shot. This gives the image a very anxious feel as it portrays the woman as locking herself away. There appears to be paperwork or bills in the foreground of the image which highlights a possibility that the reason for the woman state is because of debt or healthcare issues.

The woman's body language is very reserved and closed, the fact that her bed sheets are covering her also adds to the feeling that she is struggling with inner demons to which the extend is not shown in the image. The woman is visibly crying and looking distressed as she wipes away her tears and holds her phone.
