Giant collage by French artist JR to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic glass pyramid at the Louvre in Paris, France.

The image is a high-angle wide shot of the pyramid to allow people who view the photograph to see the full location as if they were in Paris themselves. This shot type also allows the viewers of this image to see the beauty of the surrounding are and the city in the background. The picture also incorporates many composition techniques. These include centre framing, leading lines and symmetrical balance. The first two techniques allow for more interest to be created in the image and draws attention to the primary points in the image. The image also uses symmetry to create a juxtaposition between the pyramid and the surrounding buildings, allowing the pyramid to seem more imposing and also drawing our focus to it much more closely. The image seems to rely on natural lighting, most likely to allow the image to seem more authentic. With no visible people in the image, the setting and objects are required to generate meaning. The framing of the photo creates a feeling go magnificence and beauty around the location. Also, the fact that the pyramid has been framed centrally in the image creates the meaning that it is the 'heart' of the location as it is of utmost importance.
