This picture represents a crowd of people celebrating the guilty verdict of the former white police officer Derek Chauvin who was found guilty on three charges for the killing of George Floyd.
Through composition we are drawn to look at the mans facial expressions and body language due to it being the most eye catching part of the photo. The man is shown to be the centre of attention of the image, dominating the frame within the medium close up. His facial expressions and body language clearly show he is joyful and relieved, telling us that he is celebrating something that was long-awaited. This also gives the image a sense of spontaneity as his emotions seem raw and not forced, which also adds authenticity to the image. The eyes are immediately drawn to the man before we see what surrounds him, as we then see that there is a large group of people around him. He is the model for the joy that those around him are feeling, representing the feelings of a community.
The only face we see in the image is his as everyone else has their back to the camera or are covered by him. The background is also blurred, meaning that the photographer just wanted the attention to be on the man as the centre of attention.
