This image shows huge flames roaring towards the centre of Cape Town in South Africa.

the fire destroyed the reading room of the University of Cape Town's Jagger Library, which housed a unique collection of African books.

The Image uses a very long shot (VLS) to show the raging fires moving along the landscape.

The use of colour is very contrasting as the bottom half of the image is darkened with the dark smoky cloud blocking out the sunlight and the bright flame making up for it, the top of the image is the opposite with bright beautiful skies, waiting to be engulfed by the gigantic cloud.

There is symbolism imbedded in the photograph as a hopeless town tries to fend off the destruction and demise of their home.-
