SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS - is something that we should have said right at the beginning of this video - but we didn't. Not that there's a lot to spoil about the story (Back in 97 someone told me that the Titanic sank just as I was walking into the cinema to watch James Cameron's epic - gutted!) but Nolan's own unique take on this incredible historical event is dissected from the very start - so if you haven't seen it before - be warned!
And also, what the hell are you doing? Go and watch it!!
This was Matt's No1. Nolan movie, and as discussed stands a good chance of changing the War Film genre forever! A film which manages to bust the myth of the 'Miracle of Dunkirk' whilst remaining patriotic & honouring those involved. A film which refuses to tug at the heart strings or manipulate emotions but still delivers a powerful punch. A film with no discernible main characters yet has some of the most memorable performances of all of his films...
...Nolan's shortest film, but our longest review. A pretty good indicator of how important this film is.
Here's the poster - it's a bit Dark Knight-y...
