Regardless of your political, ideological stance, the following media texts all have a preferred reading. However, how you react to them my differ. The media is constantly trying to construct new representations for us based on their ideological stance. Below is a front cover of the sun, a right wing conservative newspaper, released during the 2017 general elections with the aim to dethrone the growth of socialism and encourage tory votes. The

newspaper uses the image of Corbyn in a bin titled Cor-Bin This is a general attack on Corbyn and possibly has a semiotic meaning that Corbyn is not good enough to run our country. In plain words he is rubbish. Additionally, The sun titles the newspaper as we've had enough of Jezza's rubbish... This cover is constantly trying to undermine Corbyn and his political, ideological stance with simple hate. In a way the newspaper acts as bias propaganda for the conservatives and aims to limit the votes for Labour. Furthermore, the bullet points on the side list his so called negatives. Stereotyping him as a dangerous. Relating Corbyn to terrorists and calling him a terrorists friend and a Marxist extremist. The Sun painted Corbyn as a radical socialist who is too dumbfounded to run our country. whilst it does this it is constantly trying to promote tory with the big bold capitals VOTE TORY with a huge "x" in the box. The Sun fails to list any of Jeremy Corbyn's positives and instead replaces them for all his faults and flaws. It is constantly trying to build an unhealthy image of Corbyn to the reader whilst simultaneously promoting the Tory party. Calling him a puppet of the union connotes to us that he is nothing but a middle man and paints the picture that he is a side man for the unions and that they are in charge of him not the coterie.
This video paints Jeremy Corbyn as a man of the people, it shows him as being a community man. and a person with a true drive for change. The video is positive of Corbyn as it presents him in a different light than the sun did. it shows he is not a Terrorists friend but a m
an with a huge drive for impact in change in the county he lives in. This is a huge contrast to the article by the sun I had chosen because it shows that depending on what media you interact with and how you choose to consume that media, It will have a completely opposite effect on how you choose to view the person or product. Seeing Jeremy along side the supports too has a semantic meaning, that he is a man of the people and there for the many and not the few a his slogan suggests. Seeing Jeremy in ordinary clothes and not a smart suit as you might suggest, it could reflect how he is there truly out of passion and drive for change within the community

This paper has a clear ideological stance. Calling Jeremy out as an antisemitic and a racist. This paper attack Jeremy on a personal level. Calling him a racist is undermining his political career. This paper caused a huge blow to how Jeremy is being represented and perceived. This cover came in the rise of antisemitic allegations within the Labour party. The frown on Jeremys face suggest that he is evil and not the right man for running the country.
