Katniss is surrounded by fire and wearing the colour red which could symbolise danger, showing how throughout the years, women have been represented differently than in previous eras. For example, women in the 50's would only ever be considered a housewife however Katniss is clearly a strong, independent woman.

Furthermore, it would be rare fr a woman tore portrayed as somebody who is able to save people, they used to only be seen as a sex object, or a damsel in distress whereas Katniss is giving the complete opposite impression off here. She is wearing a full outfit which, although tight fitting, isn't sexualising her just as much as a short skirt or flesh coloured and sheer clothing would, instead it gives her a sense of empowerment.

David Gauntlett's theory of identity would support this poster considering Katniss could be considered as a role model to women all around the world. She is portrayed as a strong and confident women who many young girls could idolise since she radiates such independence. She should also be considered a role model considering she doesn't let anybody get in her way and always does the right thing, She isn't afraid to stand up for her family.

The fire in the background connotes danger, however Katniss is unfazed by this, showing that she is brave and nothing can faze her. The fire could also be used to she what Katniss is dangerous, since she knows what she wants and isn't afraid to do everything in her power to get it.
