This is the front page from the Daily Mirror's newspaper on the 16th 2019. At the very top of the page, we can see the mast head which reads 'Daily Mirror Fighting for You' to try and ally itself with the British people as it is traditionally a left-leaning newspaper. The masthead is also displayed inside a 'red top' box, something conventional of British tabloid newspapers. The headline for the main story on the page is also very typical of tabloid newspapers as it is short and to the point unlike broadsheet newspapers. The headline, the images and the anchorage present on the page also furthers the papers alignment to the left as it uses unflattering images and words such as 'humiliated' and 'crushed' when the conservative right wing party are mentioned. The only other 'story' on the front page, which takes up less room on the page also reinforces the idea that this a paper for the people by making it a more relatable story for the people, allowing it to seem as so the paper is on their side as the masthead also implies.
