Social Enterprises - The Big Issue

Social enterprises change the world, so when The Big Issue was created in 1991 by John Bird he wanted to change the way we see magazines. from restraints like fifteen, owned by Jamie Oliver and Divine Chocolate. As of now, there are her 70,000 enterprises in the UK putting away a whopping 24 BILLION pounds, employing hundreds of thousands and contributing majorly to the economy. The websitewww.socialenterprise.org.uk (linked below) gives really useful information on how important they are and ow they help people for the better. They really have a strong message of being on a mission to help people who are less fortunate and need help.

With the Big Issue, They help the homeless and people struggling by only selling their magazine for half the face value, so they can make a small profit instead of shops and big corporations making profit. They also have a shop, where they boost sales for independent businesses who have handmade and unique products. With all the profit they make from the magazines, the big issue donates millions to people in need. This sis such a good business ethic as everyone gets helped. On their website you can subscribe to their magazine or invest in them.

There Vendors take to the streets to try and make themselves a living which could help them get onto their feet or help pay the bills.

Their usual vendors will be people struggling and The Big issue really cares for their well-being and it is so inspiring what they do.
