There is a common stereotype in the media that black people specifically young males are usually involved in gang related activity. In media this is either glorified or used in a positive way or in a negative way. The photo above is a screenshot from a very famous game GTA San Andreas the game focuses on gang related activity and most of the characters are black. Though the game uses the stereotype it's spun in positive way for entertainment.
This is an example of how the stereotype is glorified in media. This is a UK drill music video which has been a hot topic in the news as as it has been blamed for the increased crime rate in the nation as they claim it incites violence. The songs themselves generically have young black male rappers portraying how they live and the work they have to do in order to make money and survive ( usually illegal ), police claim it incites as the rappers also glorify how they score points ( stab, shoot or kill ) their opps ( rival gang members ). In this particular video the rapper explicitly says " I put Rambo blades in chests " lyrics like this are blamed for inciting violence in the UK especially London. Most of these rappers are individuals of colour and they themselves realise that they fit into the stereotype that they've been given as in the song NPK - Kelvins Coffin the rapper states " I'm tryna kill black yutes ( youths or people ) like the Klu Klux Klan". This line shows that some individuals embrace the stereotype.
