Throughout media Muslims have always been portrayed as terrorists.
For example, within newspapers, especially tabloids they consistently use sensationalised language to target the minority, in this case the minority being those of the Muslim religion.

The sun tabloid is able to use multiple headlines just like this one, to provoke a reaction from the reader as well as more readers to buy the newspaper in general. Furthermore, tabloids, especially the sun use the controversial topic surrounding Muslims for the 'sake of ease' to not only make it relatable to the reader but also to make the cover more memorable.
Moreover, tabloids as well a broadsheets choose to talk about the topic of Muslims in a way that will generalise the entire religion to the same thing. Unlike other stereotypes like the 'dumb blonde' the stereotype of all Muslims being terrorists has been shown to be Islamophobic as well as harmful.
Moving on from Newspapers, another form of media that is able to use this stereotype is action movies. For example, movies choose to use the villain to be a Muslim terrorist in certain action films. This is because it is an often used thing, making it an easy option as well as something that is easy to identify with as apart of the audience.
