THE 1975 - notes on a conditional form

Notes on a conditional form is the 1975's 4th studio album and the most controversial one yet.

The 1975 moved away from what they are known for and experimented with new genres which surprised their listeners. People love new music and its very exciting for fans to get new music, as notes on a conditional form has 22 songs it really appealed to their audience.

A lot of people argued this was too different for them and not thought through so the album felt messy however the variety of genres got people talking and the album went to number 1 in the official album charts. Personally, this is my favourite album of theirs and there is a song for everyone. My favourite is 'people' which is a cry to get humans to act against the world's problems and is a heavy punk rock song.

I was recommended the 1975's 3rd album by a friend which is how i got into their music and i loved that so i was excited to see what the new music would be like and decided to listen to notes on a conditional form.

It can be quite hard to categorise the songs into one genre because it is so experimental but songs like 'if you're too shy' and 'me & you together song' feel a lot more typical of the 1975 as they are more indie/pop songs but the other 20 songs are far from that like the end (music for cars) would be classed as orchestral while frail state of mind is more techno-pop. There's a lot of messages in this album from political statements to mental health to climate change and i think that's important. NOACF is an amazing album and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys different music genres.
