The BFI (British Film Institute) is a film and charitable organisation which promotes and preserves filmmaking and television in the United Kingdom. The BFI was formed in 1933 (87 years ago) The Institute has always focused on film , and throughout history have brought many ways of watching film and making film more accessible and enjoyable to the British audience. Ever since 1952 the foundation has funded independent filmmakers in the UK to create their visions and ideas, that they previously wouldn't have the funds to do so. In addition in 1988 the BFI opened the Museum of Moving Image (MOMI) on the South Bank. MOMI was acclaimed internationally ad set new standards for education through entertainment, however
