The 2018 Prince Harry and Meghan Markle royal wedding is one topics that shows controversy.

For example within different types of the media e.g. Newspapers and TV news the royal wedding is shown to be glamorous and a day to celebrate. With the newspapers like The Sun using headlines such as 'Kisstory. Harry & Meg's historic change for monarchy', this being one of the positive ways of 'constructing' the royal wedding event. For example. the choice of picture to use as the front cover is able to play into the ideology of the royal wedding being perfect and the two being completely in love. Furthermore, the choice of the text being underlined creates the idea of it being fact as well as true. As well as this, all of the front page is about the 2018 royal wedding, even the top right and left corners that talk about other aspects of the wedding such as it being 'the greatest royal wedding ever' the fact that it has taken up the page creates the idea of the royal wedding being the only important thing at that time; that nothing else is as important in Britain in that moment.
However, a newspaper that used a more controversial headline is the Daily Mirror; they use the title 'Meghan's dad: I snorted cocaine', the choice of the bold, black text right next to a photo of Meghan instantly link both the statement and he together. As well as the red text above stating 'Royal wedding day sock', all of these choices allow the possible scandal and the royal wedding to be linked.
