The Fall Guy starring Emily Blunt ( Jody Moreno ) and Ryan Gosling ( Colt Seavers ) is an action filled comedy about a stuntman, fresh off an almost career-ending accident who has to track down a missing movie star, solve a conspiracy and try to win the love of his life back while still doing his day job. Whar could possibly go right?
This film is ultimatley a love letter to not just film making but stuntmen in general which is rare to come by in this industry as stuntmen don't get enough credit. They're not even recognised by the academy when they are literally putting their lifes at risk to make these cool action packed sequences a reality in the film world. For example one of Goslings stunt doubles, Ben Jenkins got set on fire and thrown at a wall. Director David Leitch ( who used to be a stuntman ) truly wanted to make a film to show his love to the stunt side of the industry and to give them the recognision they deserve and for them not to feel like 'nobody notices if you're here or not' as Gail says to Colt in the film. I also love how they included Goslings stunt men in as many of the premeirs and interviews for press leading up to the film as they possibly could as it really shows how important they and how much the cast and crew appreaciated them.
A world record was actually broken on set of the film. It was broken by Logan Holiday
( another one of Goslings stunt men ), he broke the record for most canon rolls in a car in a movie which was previously held by Adam Kirley who did 7 canon rolls in the 2006 James Bond film 'Casino Royale'
