Tyler The Creator released IGOR in May 2019, and he received a lot of praise for this album as it is still regarded as his best piece of work yet. IGOR follows the story of Tyler finding himself in a relationship with a boy who isn't ready to come out yet and is still dating his girlfriend. Tyler compares himself to famous character Igor from the monster of Frankenstein Igor as he is cast to the side and the person, he thought he loved is seemingly more interested in someone else. IGOR is Tyler's most successful album to date with him having some of his best and most popular songs on the album such as Earfquake and New Magic Wand. In the music video for Earfquake Tyler adopts the personality of Igor as he wears a blonde wig and a blue suit, Tyler expresses his love for this person in the song as he blames himself saying "Don't leave, it's my fault". Throughout this album it is clear that Tyler has embraced his new self and he is more comfortable with who he is openly sharing his feelings and his true identity. Throughout this music video Tyler wears a blue suit and a blonde wig, this is something that fans were unfamiliar with at the time as Tyler's fashion wasn't this out there, it seems that Tyler has really adopted his true self and is in acceptance of who he is. In Tyler's earlier work it seemed he hadn't found his sexuality as he never really openly spoke out about it in his previous songs and albums.

Tyler also made an appearance in the XXL magazine in 2021 following the release of his latest album Call Me If You Get Lost. This magazine shows Tyler in a very positive way as he is described as "Hip-Hop's Fearless Visionary" which tells us that people view Tyler as one of the best in the genre of Hip-Hop at this time. Furthermore, Tyler flaunts his outlandish fashion in this magazine as the cover of it says "The Wild and Wonderful World of Tyler the Creator" showing that although Tyler's fashion and music may seem somewhat crazy at times it is great, and he has heavily influenced the way people carry and express themselves. In this magazine cover we see that Tyler adopts some feminine traits like his painted nails, this stereotype throughout the genre of Hip-Hop that men cannot be feminine is broken by this magazine as one of the most popular and famous artists right now has his nails painted. However, Tyler isn't the only rapper to do this, close friend of Tyler Asap Rocky has been recently painting his nails as well proving that men in the Hip-Hop genre can show feminine traits whilst still being some of the most successful and best in the industry.
However, Tyler hasn't always been greeted with positivity in the world of Hip-Hop as with some of his earlier work he faced some critiques. When Tyler released Cherry Bomb in 2015 it wasn't received the best by people as many believed that Cherry Bomb was a step down to his prior album Wolf, famous youtuber The Needle Drop reviewed Tyler's album Cherry Bomb and he didn't enjoy it. Overall, he gave the album a three out of ten believing it was a step down from his last work as he believed Tyler was too inconsistent. However, Tyler didn't take well to this review as although he did not directly say who he was talking about he believed that people should give the album more listens instead of releasing a review merely hours after the release. This shows Tyler's journey through the music he makes hasn't always been successful and that people didn't enjoy it as much as they do now, this may be down to Tyler being more emotive in his newer songs talking about his love life and his sexuality.
