Venom Poster Analysis

Venom The Last Dance (2024) starring Tom Hardy is the third film of the trilogy.  There are many representations throughout, but I think the main one is mental struggles. From the poster we see how it is divided down the middle but not evenly as Venom takes over Ed’s head which signifies that Venom has the control and how like a mental illness Ed can’t control him or get rid of him. It's like he’s battling with himself. He just wants the old him back.

The use of red on the written code “The Last Dance” is a visual signifier of hunger and danger. We know this because the color red reminds us of blood and therefore makes us hungry and it is the only colour that can do this. It tells us danger because when we see red, we typically are reminded to stop danger ahead, for example a stoplight will always be red as it's the first colour our brain recognizes quickly

Stuart Halls theory of the shared road map is applicable all throughout the poster. We can see from Ed’s face the struggle/endurance that he has been through almost as if he has lost a loved one.
