1ST MEDIA PRODUCT: CHARITY AD - 'Big Cats' FOUR PAWS/Animal Charity
The primary target audience for this ad would be adults ideally, animal lovers who would most likely be in the age gap between 20-60s (whoever loves animals who has the capability of sharing their money and donating it to help the charity save the cats).
In reference to Stuart Hall’s theory, this identifies the audience ideologies. The ‘Need to Nurture’ through showing explicit clips and images of suffering animals which would further cause the audience to empathise with the cats. And the ‘Need to Satisfy Curiosity’, specifically ‘Why have these cats been treated this way?’, ‘How can I help save these magnificent animals?'.
2ND MEDIA PRODUCT: FILM - Hocus Pocus (1993)
Yet another movie that I love! Total side note; every year on Halloween me and my parents turn all the house lights off - so people (trick or treaters) think nobody is home - and we watch this film - it's basically our Halloween tradition {Funny thing is literally today (when I posted this) we watched it today - we watched it early because my mum is working on Halloween sooooo}. Due to recognising the dark plot points of the film, the primary target audience would be families, people aged 7+ (anyone can watch this film really, I know a lot of elderly who like this film too).
As well, in reference to Stuart Hall's theory, people watch this for entertainment and escapism.
