AMC is owned by AMC Networks, an American entertainment company whose HQ is in New York, which was owned by cable vision until 2011 but is now its own company.

Background and ethos:
Began as a channel that showed classic films, but moved into original programming in 2002 such as Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead. It did have talkshows between 2011-2013, but stopped all of them aside from 'The Talking Dead'. They will either produce these shows in-house, or buy the rights from smaller/foreign production companies.
Specialise / niche:
AMC specialises in drama shows, particularly that of adult content. Examples of this include 'The Walking Dead', 'Better Call Saul' and 'Preacher'; most shows have supernatural elements or focus on the world of crime.
