Sony is a group corporation, which has been founded in 1946 by Masaru Inuka and Akio Morita. Sony corporations have different groups which is classed as sub-companies which is under eh entire brand name. Companies like Sony Electronical, Sony Entertainment which includes Sony Pictures and Sony Music Group, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Sony Financial Group, and others. They produce different products and services, from cameras to Video games. The most important products that we are looking for is Films, TV shows and Video games.
Sony Films is a sub company which is owned by the Sony franchise. They consist of products top and more mainstream films, for example, Karate Kid, Ghostbusters, Jumanji, Men in Black, Spider-Man, and Spider-man Universe.
Sony Video Games is a sub-company where it shows different genre of games, for example God of War, Final Fantasy VII, The Last of Us and Uncharted, where they might have different storylines but might have a similar structure in terms of its format and its setting.
This backs up Curran and Seaton arguments that the bigger the company, the less creative they are. This is shown is Sony because each type of film shows the same storyline and not talking a different approach in the way that they are creating these products, where for example the good guys always win. This is evident in Spider-Man and Jumanji and most Sony movie have love interest sections within the films.
However, it has the idea of having diverse ownership, where some shows or films might have different companies which might be a part of that product or the service, for example in Spiderman it is heavily linked with MCU and Sony, where it shows different ownerships, where MCU is more like superhero/bad guy genre and for Sony it mainly focuses of different genre sets. This shows how these types of ownerships are very known in the public as both of them are mainstream, where it might shows a more diverse audience range where MCU fans might watch anything which is linked with Sony due to how they might have a similar structure and Sony Fans as well. This can increase the production as a whole and increase the fan base.
