Men's Health published by Hearst, is the world's largest men's magazine brand, with 35 editions in 59 countries. It is also the best-selling men's magazine on U.S. newsstands. Although originally started as a men's health magazine, it currently covers various men's lifestyle topics such as fitness, nutrition, fashion, and sexuality.
Website: The men's health website is crammed with different articles on different topics that relate to the magazines genre eg , fitness, nutrition, fashion, and sexuality. Despite being quite crammed it still has a organised feel by the use of headings and links to different parts of the website along the top of the screen making it easy to navigate which means its more accessible for a wider audience type. It also tackles the stigma around men and mental health with a section titled “mental strength” featuring different articles to support a reader and make men expressing emotions a normal occurrence which I think is really progressive and reflects a change in society.
Cover: grey and red colour scheme gives it a professional and put together feel. Features joe wicks who is extremely popular in the fitness world at the minute due to his at home pe workouts for children during lockdown. However he is also known for his healthy recipes, extravagant character and workouts. He is seen here presented in a religious way featuring a halo behind his head which links to the strapline “ The gospel according to joe” this makes him seem like a idol and someone to worship and look up to which would appeal to the target audience of men 18+ who are interested in fitness. We can also see Anthony Joshua and Lewis Hamilton mentioned amongst other sporting legends, appealing to the aspirer and the mainstreamer ,wicks is also shirtless promoting the ideal body type these men will aspire to have. We also see stereotypical subheadings for a fitness magazine like “ 24 ways to turn carbs into muscle and the “body issue 2020”
