Mens Health Magazine

It targets men of all ages and gives them guides on how to shape their life with things such as exercise and style.

Text 1. Magazine Cover, Double Page Spread & Advertorial

This Cover Uses and basic format of most. Men's health magazines. Such as catchy titles and the use of black, red and yellow font. It also uses a celebrity which in this case is Chris Hemsworth and has the same themes of any Mens Health product focusing on exercise, diet and style as well as other things it to help portray its idea of masculinity.

This magazine combination of Chris Hemsworth and the heading 'fit at any age' to capture a variety of men from all ages. It does this by targeting the universal goal men have for self improvement and by using Chris Hemsworth to target both young and old audiences.

As the cover reminds us Chris Hemsworth is known mainly for his role as thor so it makes sense that a younger audience would look up to the god like body he was able to achieve, while an older audience would be intrigued by his success within his career.

Here the magazine provides a healthy alternative to the popular food Jelly. It is a simple recipe that offers low calories and high protein that can be made quickly and looks appetizing.

The page provides the full nutritional information as well as full measurements for all the ingredients, as well as providing the name of the professional who helped make it to keep its professional image and earn the trust of the audience.

The advert shows a man in peak physical condition who is likely the embodiment of what the paper believes to be the ideal male physique. The man looks to be lower than 10% body fat however which science would suggest isn't healthy for long periods of time despite being a standard at the highest level in things such as bodybuilding. It also shows a man without giving the context on how he gained his physique and attempts to give the credit to the supplements it is selling rather than the more likely factors being a good diet, hard work or in some cases potentially steroids.

The add uses the heading 'I am unique' and offers personalized supplements, which would likely lead to more sales than products aimed at everyone due to the impression you are getting exactly what you need.

The add seems to be offering a bundle of vitamin supplements and protein powder and while both can be useful, the add fails to mention that both are unnecessary if the audience were to have a good diet and get sufficient protein and vitamins from their food. The company uses these techniques to show its care for the consumer and to portray the product it is advertising to be the highest quality despite them likely choosing to promote the brand that offered the most commission and monetary gain for them.

Text 2 :Men's Health YouTube

Like the magazine, the Men's health YouTube shares many similarities in its content and use of celebrities. These similarities can be seen in this video that features KSI and his body transformation prior to his most recent boxing event.

A YouTube collaboration with KSI makes complete sense due to fame and influence on the platform. Collaborating with KSI just before his fight helped the company maximize their exposure and attract a new audience to their channel.

Focusing on boxing makes sense as it is the perfect sport to promote the companies ideologies of strength and masculinity while also promoting general fitness due to the high level of fitness needed in boxing.

The video takes the viewer through a short workout that they can follow along and ends with a short interview of KSI asking him why he fights and allowing him to talk about his motivations.

Text 3 : Men's Health website

The main page of the website has what you would expect from any website like it. It gives the option for you to sign in and subscribe to the magazine. As well as offering categories for types of content you would expect on the website from a Health category to a fitness category.

On the other hand, the magazine uses its platform to take a firm stance against the long lasting issue of racism and to even attempt to align the audience with its beliefs on the issue.

Like you would expect from any Men's Health product the website offers a short workout routine intended to blow up your biceps. It can be seen all over the website and hint at some extreme results if you try it yourself. It often does this to motivate the audience to try the workouts and to keep engaging with their content.

It is published professionally, often with input from professionals to sell the effectiveness with readers and again solidify the trust it attempts to create with its audience. The workouts offer simple direction and are intended for anyone to try.
