The show is an allegory for different issues and some of the issues could be the use of mental health through the character of Adele and the belief and non belief of religion through the opposing characters of Pierre and Jerome. The theme of Mental health can be shown in the first episode when Simon comes to Adele's house she breaks down when she hears him knocking and shouting because after his death she has hallucinations and thought that he had came back.
