Music Video- Van Zoonen

MoStack, Stormzy- Shine Girl...

This music video confirms the notion that men act and women appear. In this music video it shows the two artist (male) taking active roles while lip-syncing their song, whereas, on the other hand the women in the video occupy a passive role. This is used to drive the narrative forward in the music video. While this video does not use archetypes that women often inhabit in many narrative types, for example revealing clothing, the videos the camera angles and slow motion shots encourage the 'male gaze' by encouraging the audience to look at the women for a long period of time.

This screenshot shows the male artist 'Mostack' playing a active role and a girl behind him playing a passive role.

However, this music video is rare in the fact that it does not use archetypes to sexualise women. often music videos present women as sexual objects that are playing a passive role.
