The hyper sexuality of women within media is extremely prominent in music videos as a way to reinforce patriarchal power.A good example of women just appearing in the music videos and that they take passive roles under men is a number of Jason Derulos music videos, More importantly "swalla" and "Want you to want me". Jason Derulo has built up his whole image surrounding this over sexualised persona and music , which these two videos reinforce. In both of these videos we see a number of women dressed in next to nothing, surrounding Derulo and dancing almost in command to him, making them appear beneath him, based solely on gender.We don't see their individual personalities and they appear as not a human as a object due to this passive character they take on.
