Rolling Stone was founded in San Francisco in 1967 by Jann Wenner a former student at the University of California the magazine does features and articles about music, film, TV, politics, etc. the first issue was about the music star John Lennon and ever since then they have created over 1000 magazines and hope to create many more in the future
Front cover: the masthead uses the Royal Acidbath font which is very recognizable in pop culture the magazine cover is very simplistic with a black background with an image and coverings to the side which mentions three people involved with the star wars movies to keep with the theme of the magazine. Adam Driver himself is a very famous actor who can easily attract readers just by his presence he also has enough of a presence that he is able to cover the masthead showing that the magazine looks to attract star wars fans more than its own even though fans will recognize the title. the black background may also represent the evil character that he plays in the movies the title also compliments the red cracks in his helmet making them stand out
the magazine expects to attract customers and so it doesn't need to overcomplicate the front cover this is a theme in the magazine industry the fewer features on the magazine cover the more well known it is as it does not need to attract readers through the articles all it needs is the title.
