In the media brand prevelance is at an all time high. everywhere we turn we see a brand or a logo. Designer clothing is esentialy a wearable billboard with logos plastered on tshirts hats trainers and trousers. These proide not only a symbol of status to the wearer but from a synical perspective it acts as basic free advertising for the manufacturers.
Popup ads are everywhere online. these use cookies to target and taylor the adverts you see to your intrests based upon your browsing history. This practise allows adverts to be more relevant to you thus helping out both yourself and the company as you are more likely to buy. However the methods used to track your browsing history such as phones listening in on microphones presents several key ethical issues of privacy, targeted advertising also causes echo chambers where a consumer is not exposed to any new conseptas ideals or products. The unfortunate thing is that these ads are part and parsal when browsing on the web and is often unavoidable online.
