In our present-day civilization, the world is dominated by advertisements, which control not only every form of media, but also the physical landscape in which we inhabit. It could be argued that we as a society have become driven by adverts and commercials. They can be seen everywhere whether it's on your phone, your tv screen or even the billboards and posters across your local area. Advertisements have become regular in our day to day lives and we as a society have grown to accept it over time. this is a product of the overall increase of the consumerist lifestyle that we have grown accustom to as big tech and toy companies pushing innovative toys and technology out every single year. this has led to an increase of promotion of these new creations and also affects us as a whole. this has culminated in a world were you cannot own technology and keep away from ads at the same time. this is due to the plague of ads that fill up all technology within our society. I personally believe that there is a overflow of ads and that this is harmful to our society. i believe this because when people get too used to these short bursts of content their overall attention span decreases significantly. this will have a negative effect on society especially on those going through school and college as they may not have a good enough attention span to be able to learn efficiently and effectively. this will also have a negative effect on the younger and future generations as the ads will only increase from here on now and the attention spans will only decrease. This influx of ads that society is going through in the present day can however also have positive effects on society as people are able to show off their new innovations and creations off to the public while also encouraging potential new workers and motivating the public to innovate themselves and make new creations and technology. the shortness of the ads is also good because it may help people become more efficient and conscise with work and potential opportunities within life.
