The film marketing industry often uses sexualisation in marketing to tittilate the male audiance and propagate the male gaze. a common format would be the shot through a woman's leg. This is often used in screwball raunchy comidies with young male protagonists eg super troopers or hall pass. However some such as the kingsman poster have used it to parody the style as those films satire the bond franchise which often uses hyper sexualised rep of women.
This has also permiated the world of films intended for a teenage audiance such as in this poster for the film divergant based on the young adult novel of the same name. it features the make chatacter in a conident masculine pose facing the camera. however the main character of triss is seen with her back side exentuated towards the camera. she is wearing skintight black leather. The lighting reflects off of the but cheek drawing attention to it. This presents several ethical issues considering the target audiance of the film is younger than others. It promotes to young male veiwers that objectification is ok and to woman it shows a negative role model.
This is made even worse when movies intended for an even younger audiance use this as seen inthis poster for the U rated childrens movie: minions when the legs of the main fem fetal are exentuated using heels and tights alongside a colour palet of red and black to make the character seem more apealing. Alarmingly the minion BOB is seen looking up her skirt.
In this poster for a fantasy adventure film star wars. Instead of the poster focousing on the lightsaber, the formost image in the poster is a breast.
