Celebrity Representation - Robert Pattinson

Robert Pattinson is a British actor most famous for his roles in The Twilight Saga film (2008-2012) and portraying Batman / Bruce Wayne in the The Batman.

In this video Robert Pattinson is in Paris doing multiple different things in collaboration with Vogue and Dior. Throughout the video Pattinson doesn't appear to take his fame, himself and his public persona seriously. As this is a video filmed over 24 hours only certain moments are picked by editors and producers so this cannot be taken as a fully authentic representation of Pattinson. He constantly jokes about himself and sometimes even cringing at what he is doing. It also cannot be taken as a fully authentic representation as he knows that the cameras are going to be constantly rolling so he puts across the persona he wants people to see, and that is a down to Earth guy and aware with modern day celebrity culture and wants to be that all around likeable character, this also links back to his 'heart-throb' character past in The Twilight Saga which he became so famous for. The camera angles and framing are often close up and the camera is hand held creating a personal and close atmosphere with Pattinson linking back to the point of that he wants to be seen as down to Earth and likeable. With Vogue creating a 24 hour in the life it shows how they want to represent celebrities and modernize celebrity culture to have them be seen as just regular people and not these mythical creatures who should be worshiped. One point that should be mentioned is that this is no 'ordinary day of the life' as straight away he is seen to be in a luxury apartment/house then meeting with Dior perfumer Francois Demachy discussing a new Dior fragrance and then at Paris fashion week. They don't want to fully 'humanize' him and want to keep the idolization and glamour of the celebrity life so people still look up to him and want his life but still feel connected to him on the surface.
