Lady Bird Film Review

Lady bird is a coming of age film released in 2017 , directed by Greta Gerwig. The movie has some big acting names such as Saoirse Ronan , Timothee Chalamet and Laurie Metcalf. Lady bird follows the theme of a mother - daughter relationship as well as friendships and romanic relationships of a 17 year old girl . The film takes you on an emotional rollercoaster as we follow a year in the life of Christine McPherson , also known as ‘ladybird’ as she navigates her way through her senior year of high school , first relationships , and losing and gaining friends.

There is a strong , platonic- relationship represented through out the film of Ladybird and her best friend Julie. As ladybird finds new friends and starts dating her new and pretentious, musician boyfriend , her relationship with Julie is distanced. After everything though , they always find their way back to each other. This is extremely relatable to almost all teenagers , who go through the struggles of loosing and gaining friends while in the process of trying to figure life out and navigate through school years .

Id recommend this film to mainly female young adults and teenagers, who might find themselves relating to Ladybird in a way and inevitably resinating to the film in their own way.
